| 9 | Open Day at Pukaha Mount Bruce Wildlife Centre Pukaha Mount Bruce Wildlife Centre is opening its doors to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped with the major fundraising for the arrival of 30 new kiwi to the centre. Members of the public are welcome, free of charge, from 9am to 4.30pm.
A perfect Mothers Day treat.
Activities include:
1) Ranger talk at 10am - we'll tell everyone about our new kiwi
2) Tuatara Close Encounter at 11am - get up close and personal with a living dinosaur
3) Feeding the monster eels at 1.30pm
4) The ever popular kaka feed at 3pm
5) Make time to walk the lookout track, Te Arapiki o Tawhaki

| 4-6 | National Poultry & Pigeon Show to be held in Masterton The Wairarapa Poultry and Pigeon Club will host the National Show for the first time in their 100 year history, at the Solway Showgrounds, Queen's Birthday weekend 2010.
More than 1700 top birds from throughout the country have been entered. Open to the public from Friday afternoon from 3pm to 8pm, Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sunday from 9am to 12noon. $2 entry. | 13 | Magoos Street Rods Annual Open House A chance for the public to see first hand the inner workings of one of New Zealand's leading hot rod shops, as featured on TV, with 20 cars currently under construction for customers from as far away as Auckland and Ashburton.
Other hot rods will be attending from all over the North Island so there will be a large outdoor display also. Free admission.

| 14 | Charity Trail Ride for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Sign in at 8am at the Tauweru Hall - Masterton/Castlepoint Road, 12kms from Masterton, signposted at Faulknor's Service Station at the north end of Masterton.
Riders briefing 9.45am, start time 10am. Adults $30, junior riders $20 (16yrs and under)and kid's track $15. Suitable for 2 wheel and quad bikes. Helmets compulsory plus suitable safety gear for the day. Terrain - morning ride approximately 50kms plus an afternoon ride of 25/30kms and there will also be a children's track on the day. |

| 14-15 | Lion Foundation Cycle Challenge The Lion Foundation Cycle Challenge from Wellington to Auckland will be passing through Masterton on the 14th and 15th of February. On Sunday they will leave Featherston at 12.30pm, go through Gladstone to Martinborough and arrive at South Belt Road in Masterton at approximately 2pm. On Monday they leave from the netball courts in Columbo Road at 9am and travel through the back roads to Pahiatua on their way to Palmerston North. There will be around 120 competitors of all ages plus their supporters for this 2010 event. |
