This medieval-themed event is set in the lovely Gladstone countryside with a backdrop of the breathtaking stone circle. There'll be musicians, dancing, good old-fashioned games such as sack races and tug of war (with medals for all the winners), food and stalls of locally produced goods. | 14-15 | Lion Foundation Cycle Challenge The Lion Foundation Cycle Challenge from Wellington to Auckland will be passing through Masterton on the 14th and 15th of February. On Sunday they will leave Featherston at 12.30pm, go through Gladstone to Martinborough and arrive at South Belt Road in Masterton at approximately 2pm. On Monday they leave from the netball courts in Columbo Road at 9am and travel through the back roads to Pahiatua on their way to Palmerston North. There will be around 120 competitors of all ages plus their supporters for this 2010 event. |
